Nagoya Railway Museum

The SCMaglev and Railway Park is a railway museum owned by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) in Nagoya, Japan. The museum featured 39 full-size railway vehicles and one bus exhibit, train cab simulators, and railway model dioramas. It opened on 14 March 2011. Now it is one of the most famous museums in Nagoya, especially for families with kids.

The pictures above are some of the trains inside the museum. Many railways exhibit in the museum that surely you will admire particularly to those who loves old train version. People in all eras can enjoy discovering through multiple models and simulators machine. You can also have a chance to drive the MAGLEV in a simulation; however, only if you get a chance by winning a lottery system. Through the balloting system, you can have the opportunity to drive the train.
The kid play area is also available on the second floor; you will find an excellent kids’ play area. You can come in for free, but you have to remove your shoes ( Japanese etiquette), And if you are hungry, there is a small snack counter at the museum.

- 10am to 5.30pm (no admission after 5pm)
- closed Tuesdays
- open Tuesdays if that day is a national holiday (and closed the following day)
- closed December 28th to January 1st

- Adults: Y1,000
- Children (elementary, junior and high school): Y500
- Children between 3 and 6: Y200
- Children below 3: free

Parking 🚗
There is no parking lot at the museum. You can use the nearby Kinjofuto parking lot operated by the City of Nagoya.
