And the roaming deer outside the Temple (ε₯ˆθ‰―ε…¬εœ’)

Hey, We are in Nara prefecture, and I’m going to tell you about my experience with this lovely deer and let’s see what’s inside in the Todai-Ji temple.

The Nara Park is one of the “Places of Scenic Beauty,” and Over 1,200 wild sika deer (γ‚·γ‚«or ιΉΏ Shika) freely roam around in the park as natural wealth. Because according to Shinto shrine and local folklore, Nara deer were the sacred messengers of the gods, such that, in historical times, killing a deer in Nara was a fraud punishable by death.

Feeding the deer

The deer in Nara Park is affirming some behaviors when pleading to be fed. I can see why Nara’s deer are exceptional. They’ve come to see travelers as a source of food. You can purchase deer crackers for less than Β₯200 to feed them, after which deer will instantly start following you around. At first, I got scared because they wouldn’t stop following you until the food was in your hand. So if you are thinking of feeding other deer, hide it and move.

Big Buddha (Daibutsu)

Tōdaiji Temple

Tōdai-Ji (東倧寺) or “Great Eastern Temple” is the most historical Temple preserves many precious cultural treasures from the Temple’s past. Moreover, it also is a treasure house of traditional Buddhist ceremonies such as the Shunie ceremony held at the Nigatsu-dō (δΊŒζœˆε ‚) or “The half of the second month.” Several people from throughout Japan and the world visit the Temple to worship and pay their admiration every year.

Big Buddha (Daibutsu) is the world’s most giant bronze Buddha. Originally built between 735 and 749, the colossal sitting Buddha sculpture is 72 feet high, weighs over 550 tons, and wrapped almost 300 pounds of gold.

Buddha’s nostril
I did it!

Another famous attraction is a pillar with a hole in its ground, similar to the Great Buddha’s nostril. It said that those who crawl through it would receive enlightenment and have all their prayers answered. And yes, I did it. Hooray!. Comparing my existence before and now is different, but yes, accomplishing this method doesn’t mean all the desires you pray for will be answered. It relies on how it can impact you or is this good for you. For me, this is for giving you more belief and encouragement to enlighten you to live the best version of your life. Very miraculous Temple, aren’t they? There are many attraction spots in Nara prefecture, and most of them are temples, too, because Nara is the cradle of Japanese culture.

Food during my trip in Kyoto (京都)

What’s unique about Kyoto food? Kyoto cuisine uses plenty of old Japanese ingredients, such as tofu, matcha, bracken starch, and kudzu. It also has plenty of preserved fish, such as dried herrings and salt-pickled mackerel, a fitting trait for a land-locked city.

This Japanese food is the food I’ve tried in Kyoto, and I’m going to share how it tastes. Not that famous like other food, but it’s affordable, and the taste was so satisfying.

Tofu udon (豆腐うどん)

This food is prepared with gentle Kyoto dashi broth and rich, healthy tofu, so after finishing the noodles, drink it up! And it’s tastes good. I could say that the soup is unique for Kyoto. If you compare it to Japanese ramen is usually very salty and very high in calories. It is often said that you should not drink the soup after you finish the noodles. However, ramen is the best for me in Japan.

Green tea soba (茢そば)

As you can see in the picture on the left side dish is oyakodon, in the middle dish is Kyoto tea soba, the well-known food that you can only eat in Kyoto.Green tea soba is my first time to eat, and I was glad that matcha wasn’t a dominant flavor. I could barely taste it. The noodles were precisely green, proof that a bit of matcha powder goes a long way and tsuyu dipping sauce on the side was an excellent combination.

Dumplings/ matcha/ sakuramochi (団子/抹茢/ ζ‘œι€…)

Hanami Dango (dumplings) is a famous sweet made by sweetened rice balls on skewers. The dumplings come in three striking colors of pink, white, and green. A sweet start to the arrival of spring! As spring approaches, Japan turns into a shade of pink. The texture of the Matcha is rich, creamy, and smooth, delicious as a Matcha latte tastes approved to me. Sakura mochi is a wagashi consisting of sweet, pink-colored rice cake with a red bean paste center wrapped in a pickled cherry blossom leaf.

Matcha ice cream (ζŠΉθŒΆγ‚’γ‚€γ‚Ή)

One of my favorite things in Kyoto is matcha ice cream (green tea ice cream), And if you’re going to eat green tea ice cream anywhere in the world, it ought to be Kyoto. This mildly sweet delicacy has become so alike with modern Kyoto dessert that you can get it nearly everywhere.gey

Few ask me what they should do or discover in Kyoto, but I will constantly give a similar answer. It relies on your personality and taste. There’s a little something for everybody in Kyoto whether you choose to experience over sightseeing, being a tourist and sharing the historical city like a local.
