In Saitama you will also enjoy walking in Old Town located in Kawagoe City (it is called Koedo in Japanese, literally “Little Edo”) is a city that preserves its notable traditions dating ago to the Edo Period 17th to 19th centuries. During that period, Kawagoe was created around the Kawagoe Castle and played a key part in business commerce with Tokyo. Old Town is both an operational city as well as a traveler town and entertains many visitors to walk down its streets, admire the old-time architectural design, visit the provincial stores And We could see too many people lined in front of popular Sweet Potato Manju. (まんじゅう is traditional Japanese confection. Of the many varieties of manjū, most have an outside made from flour, rice powder, kudzu, and buckwheat, and a filling of Anko (red bean paste), usually made from boiled adzuki beans and sugar.

First of all, when it comes to Kawagoe, it’s Toki no Kane (Bell of Time). Nothing will begin unless we take a picture of Toki no Kane!!
The Bell Tower was originally assembled in the early 1600s, though has existed renewed several times since then due to damage from fire. The current tower was constructed in 1894 after the Great Fire of Kawagoe demolished the previous hierarchy.
The tower is three stories high have 16 meters in height and its gorgeous chimes that nowadays ring out for four times a day: at 6 in the morning, 12 noon, 3 pm, and 6 in the evening. In 1996, the Bell Tower’s chimes were established as one of the “100 Best Sound Sceneries in Japan,” to be protected by the Ministry of the Environment. The tower is not just that – there’s nowhere to go inside or buy souvenirs, although you can walk underneath it to access the tiny but beautiful Yakushi Shrine on the other side. Yakushi Jinja is tiny and charming and welcomes people praying for production, money, and healing from various illnesses (especially eye diseases).
The tower is located just off of Kurazukuri Street, in a district called the Warehouse Zone. It’s a beautiful area full of clay-walled warehouse buildings that have since been converted to modern use: restaurants, shops, and so on.
